There are WAYY too many cities in Canada to name them all. I live here and I live in Kingston Ontario, it is a pretty big city. Ontario is my province(states in USA), There is also Toronto, Ottawa and like hundreds more of cities in Ontario. That is only ONE prvince, so as you can see now, there are alot of cities in Canada.
Answer:
In Canada city status is handled by the individual provinces and territories. City status definitions and criteria vary widely. In British Columbia and Saskatchewan, towns can become cities after they reach a population of 5,000 people, but this criteria is 10,000 in Alberta and Ontario.
In Ontario city status is also given to merged municipalities or areas. Nova Scotia has abolished the title of city altogether, opting for regional municipalities insteal.
In Quebec both cities and towns are legally "villes". Quebec once differentiated between ville (town) and cité (city), but no longer does so.
