It sounds like a garbled version of either (The Apartment) by, I think Neil Simon and the Girl had overdosed- the guys start Marching her about the stairs to try to detoxify her ( landlady complains about military maneuvers at 4 in the morning! There were strong side-tones about prostitution and/or well this is in the (line of march) drug abuse. The only other film with a similar plot might have been The Slender thread- where a Black man- a telephone emergency counselor ( what are now called Hot Line- not Cold war type) operator is trying to save a young woman who has attempted suicide and is already feeling the effects of the drugs- starred Anne Bancroft as the victim, Telly Savalas as a psychiatrist- and working this further- Sidney Poitier as the phone counselor. I never saw the film so I don"t know how it was resolved. Those are the only films with this type of unusual plot device I can think of) Either The Apartment- or The Slender Thread. it was argued the latter film was maybe a rosy take off on the Monroe case- but one that came out- well Alive- we hope. Close the Window, Come Alive!
