the movie begins with the end of jaws the revenge where ellen leaves the Bahamas in a helicopter. now, ellen [lorraine gary] lives in amity again. she goes swimming one day, but soon has a flashback of seans death and starts swimming back to shore only to be pulled under water and killed by a great white shark. at ellens funeral, michael [lance guest], carla [karen young] and thea [mara wilson] show up with hoagie [michael caine]. after the funeral, the brodys go home. hoagie lives with them. thea goes to school. at school, margaret [the little girl who was with thea when she got attacked on the bananna boat in jaws 4] asks thea if she can goe sailing with her, her dad and mason. thea asks her parents if she can go but they say no. but thea sneaks to the lake while there sleeping and goes anyway. mike, carla and hoagie realize thea isnt there. they set out on a boat to find them. meanwhile, mr. ferguson, margaret, thea and mason are on the sailboat having a good time until the three adults find them. suddenly, the same shark that killed ellen jumps up and knocks the boat over. mr. ferguson, mason and margaret get back on the boat. carla jumps in to save thea, only to be devoured. thea makes it back. mike and hoagie find a power line and throw it in the sharks mouth, causing it to burn to death. the movie ends with them all going home.
