The Old Testament encodes the star religion of the Egyptians. The Giza Pyramids and Sphinx are aligned to Orion's Belt. Biblical characters like Nimrod, Samson and Elijah portraying the wild strongman and the story of St Christopher taking on the same role in a newer updated version in the time of Jesus, all represent the same original character of Orion the Hunter. Matthew tells us that John the Baptist too is Orion when Jesus declares that John is Elijah.
John the Baptist is considered important to modern day Freemasons and this may go back to the Knights Templar, who also held him in high regard. The modern colossus that is the Grande Arche in Paris was part of the 1989 bi-centennial constructions and like the Louvre Pyramid is angled by 6.33 degrees and frames the setting sun on June 24th, St John's Day. The link with Orion is still observed today.
