∙ 16y agoThere are often two types of Guitars in bands; the lead guitar, which adds an alternative melody to the vocal line, and the rhythm guitar, which pads out the sound by using chords. In three-piece bands (guitar, bass, drums) the guitar will normally play lead, and the bass will often be more complicated to add some extra rhythm where the extra guitar is missing.
(Note: lead and rhythm guitars are not different makes of guitar, like Fenders & Gibsons.)

∙ 16y agoThe role of Drummer is more than one set job. The drummer provides a beat and emphises the other instruments and vocals, the bass helps that. The drummer can also have solos where he does not just provide the beat but has full control of the flow and style of the music being played. The drummer is essentially a "Band Member" and not just a "filler. He can be very influential if you listen to him.
