It's a British Science Fiction television program about time travel. The Doctor is the only remaining Time Lord after the Time War. The Daleks wiped out his entire species (he's an alien). He owns only two items which help him and an accomplice in their adventures. Those two items are the TARDIS and his Sonic Screwdriver.
The TARDIS is his Time and Space machine. On the outside, it looks like a Police Public Call Box from the 1950's but on the inside it is much larger. The TARDIS can travel in time, go into other galaxies and other cool stuff like that. The TARDIS can't enter Parallel Universes unless there is a problem with the Time Vortex. But to explain the Time Vortex, I would have to look inside the heart of the TARDIS. And I don't plan to do that today because if you look into the heart, you will most probably die.
The Sonic Screwdriver is just like it sounds, a Sonic Screwdriver. With the sonic power inside it (Its from the 51st century), it can seal doors, cut off power sources, light candles, start the TARDIS, etc... Its really useful! It helps The Doctor and his accomplice a lot. the sonic screwdriver cant work on wood or deadlocks.
I've mentioned The Doctors 'accomplice' a couple of times now and you're probably wondering who it is, right? Well, the Doctor likes to choose one pretty girl at a time to accompany him to the stars. They travel to distant planets, space ships, black holes, different worlds and basically anywhere (except parallel universes!). Usually, the accomplice will love the Doctor and will do anything for him.
Time Lords don't die unless they've been murdered (like they were). They prefer to Regenerate. That means that they come back to life (figuratively speaking) with slightly different personalities and completely different features. For example: Christopher Eccleston turning into David Tennant. They have slightly different personalities and they look NOTHING alike. I will also add that its an AWESOME TV show that is brilliant and I highly recommend it. If your going start watching start from the ninth doctor (Christopher Eccleston) or if you really want to, the first doctor(William Hartnell). DONT SKIP NINE
because it is amazing!
it is filled with high action, drama, rommance, and a cast that is hilariously funny.
