The concept of multiplexing is that we have 2n inputs but only one of them becomes the output for a given condition (or time). That particular input is selected by the combination of n selection lines.
Multiplexer is a device that will select one input and put it through. De- multiplexers will take one signal and broadcast to many devices. Encoder will take a signal and code it with information specific to an application. Decoder will extract the encoded signal to restore in its original form
Instead of adding more wiring and more connections that may pose a reliability issue and increase the cost, we can use multiplexers to send data to many devices over fewer wires.
either check the hdmi cable or unplug and replug. You have to use the correct input format on your tv. Ex: input one is av cables (yellow, red, white) while input 2 is coaxial. Input 3 should be hdmi. unless you have more than one hdmi input they should be names hdmi 1,2,3 etc. You must select it from your TV remote.
sometimes we want to select one of two input nibbles,In this case we use nibble multiplexers.
It is used to couple output of one stage to input of next stage
A multiplexer, sometimes referred to as a "multiplexor" or simply "mux", is a device that selects between a number of input signals. In its simplest form, a multiplexer will have two signal inputs, one control input, and one output. An everyday example of an analog multiplexer is the source selection control on a home stereo unit.
" In electronics, a multiplexer or mux is a device that selects one of several analog or digital input signals and forwards the selected input into a single .here data is a continious flow of siganal...so this is called data selector Raja chjatterjee MCA,TECHNO INDIA
A: Multiplexer sends gabs of information on one line the multiplexer decodes what is designed to select from the data
Use the multiplexer to choose the correct output based on the inputs (use the truth table).
To build a 64 to 1 multiplexer using cascaded 8 to 1 multiplexer, use nine 8 to 1's. Connect the first 8 to each of the 64 inputs, then connect the ninth to the outputs of the first eight. Connect the three address lines of the eight together to form 3 of the address lines. Connect the three address lines of the ninth to form the other three, for a total of 6 address lines selecting 1 of 64 inputs. This is a lot of logic. Fan-in and fan-out may be considerations. If you are trying to scan 64 switches, there may be a better way using an 8-bit output connected to a switch matrix (with diodes if you need more than one at a time close-able) and then connected to an 8-bit input. Even better, consider the 8279 keyboard/display controller.

They find use in Clock demultiplexer,Security monitoring system,Synchronous data transmission system
Connect the 3 selection pins on both multiplexers in parallel to the A, B, and Carry inputs. Use the output of one multiplexer as the Sum output and connect its 8 inputs according to the truth table for the Sum function. Use the output of the other multiplexer as the Carry output and connect its 8 inputs according to the truth table for the Carry function. Connect any enables, etc. on both multiplexers so that they are always enabled and passing signal.

A byte always contains 8 bit of information(A7, A6 ....A0) . In case you want to use only 4 bits (16 combination) of data then 2 such information can be stored/transmitted through 1 byte, so to select weather your useful data is A0, A1, A2, A3 or A4, A5, A6, A7 a nibble MUX can be used. For detailed help reply me at ishank4043@gmail.com
