What legendary Pokemon can be caught in Pokemon platinum?

You can catch Giratina, Dialga, Palkia, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Arceus and you can also catch Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres - they'll be running around much like Mesprit and Cresselia do once you activate their events. In order to activate Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres running around Sinnoh, you must have the National Dex and talk to Professor Oak in Eterna City. However Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres can only be caught in the wild like this in Platinum, they cannot be caught in the wild in Diamond or Pearl however you do not have to catch them in-game since you could trade for them and for Mythical Pokemon such as Darkrai you needed to receive them via special event distributions that are no longer being held for Diamond, Pearl or Platinum.

Mesprit will roam around the region however you will need to use a Pokemon so that it can trap Mesprit into battle so that it cannot escape and some helpful advice to help catch it would include stocking up on Poke Balls and you should have Pokemon that are at least Level 40 or higher in your party however using your Master Ball is fine if you want to use it on Mesprit however in Platinum you will still have 4 other Legendaries that will be roaming around the region even if you caught Mesprit.
