What makes a soldier cry:

  • Being homesick.
  • Fear or desperation.
  • Seeing men dying around him or a friend dying before his eyes.
  • Seeing children in the midst of war becoming the casualties of war.
  • Having to kill the enemy especially if they are extremely young.
  • Frustration that the war does not make sense.
  • Lack of sleep causes a great deal of stress on any soldier.
  • Getting a 'dear John letter' (the girlfriend or boyfriend is tired of waiting and met someone else.)
  • His/her mind playing tricks on their mind and wondering if their spouse is cheating on them.
  • Getting no mail from home and feeling very alone.
  • Getting news from home where a loved one has died and they do not have the opportunity to go home for the funeral.
  • Missing his or her's spouse and children.
