Horror movies exploit fears that are common to almost everyone on the planet in an attempt to gain our support for the main character. By realizing that we might feel the same way in a common situation as is being played on the big screen we connect with the characters.we realize that the fears that we are experiencing during horror movies are caused by a temporary overpowering of our conscious minds over our subconscious minds. The usually suppressed fears are able to be brought to the surface for the short time that we watch a horror movie. They scare us by making us realize that we are afraid of a lot more in life than we would like to admit when the lights come back on. Horror movies are designed to have a certain outcome. most of the horror films showcase a dark area of our minds that are problematic for us. we suppress them, deep into our unconscious while the horror films try to give an overview of it. secondly, it is the thrill of horror movies that we love to have in our otherwise mondane existence.

How does scary movies affect the society?
I believe that scary movies greatly effect society. When more and more people see horror movies they begin to become desensitized. There is an obvious difference in the generations that watch horror movies. Old horror movies used to have weird monsters, where the slimier, uglier, and grosser they are, the scarier they are. Our generation now, knows that those monsters are fake so they don't scare us as much. The horror movies now are much more realistic. In order for us to get scared, we have to feel that what is going on in the movie can really happen to us. We live in a time were we think that real life is a horror movie. We expect something bad to happen to us every moment. We also expect that the people around us aren't who they say they are. The horror movies these days have made our generation so paranoid and at the same time desensitized.

Why does stuff come out of peoples mouths in horror movies?
Horror movies that really get under your skin and affect you to the point to where you would really get uneasy are ones that employ things that disgust all of us on a base level, and vomit and things such as this, are things that all people find disgusting and gross.
Why do ghost scare us?
Well ghost don't scare everybody....but usually it is because of stupid forward messages saying you will be killed by his/her ghost if you don't send, ghost stories, nightmares, and movies. That's all i can think of.
