The English owned most of the Eastern part of North America that was touching the Atlantic (Excluding Florida), The French owned the middle part of the United States, and the western part of Canada. The Spanish controlled almost all of South America, (excluding where modern day Brazil is which was contolled by the Portugiese) Mexico and the western part of the United States. The Dutch also had coloneys in present day New England, but were taken over by the British in the late 1600's. All the said countrys had their own stake in the carribian and each owened multiple islands down there.
