All the mammals we have are introduced, apart from the two native bats. And a number of birds were introduced as well.

Virtually all the crop plants and farming grasslands are of introduced varieties. Even the historic Kumera has largely been replaced by modern varieties.

And for permanent replaceable forestry, the introduced pines and euclalypt's are the main crops.

Apart from mammals (of which we have only two, (bats)), we have representatives of fish, birds, insects, crustacea, lizards, and of course the Tuatara, a relic that diverged from the evolutionary tree about 200 million years ago. (before the dinosaurs became troublesome.

The Cretaceous - Tertiary event (the bolide that landed in Mexico about 65 million years ago) caused many species to become extinct, but lots of things that could live underground for a while, survived. As did the Sharks and many fish.

And today, we have all the usual domesticated farm animals. No snakes however.
