My PS2 is from the PAL region because I live in the UK.
PlayStation 3 does not have regional lock on games. However, lock on DVDs and Blu-rays is present.
Probably not. Most PlayStation games are region locked, just as movies are. New Zealand is region 4 and the US is region 1, therefore your American games will be incompatable with a New Zealand PS2, and a New Zealand PlayStation first edition, for that matter.
Yes PlayStation 1 and 2 are region locked. This means if you have an American PS2 (or 1) you can only play American games, no European, Japanese, etc. The PS3 and PSP , on the other hand, are region free, this means if you have a European ps3 or psp, you can buy games from japan (if you want) and it will work.
No. PlayStation 2 does not have PlayStation Store.
No. There is a version that was written for the original PlayStation that can be played on a PlayStation 2, however.
its ur magra
Yes, a Region 3 PlayStation 3 game will work on a Region 1 PlayStation 3 system. The PlayStation 3 does not have regional lockouts for PlayStation 3 games. It does however have regional lockout for PlayStation games, PlayStation 2 games, DVD movies, and Blu-ray movies.
yes ^^
No. PlayStation 2s are region-coded, so games released in one area (North America) cannot be played on another region's (Europe) consoles without the use of a modchip.

"Yes, the playstation is 'region free' on games. This means American games (region 1) can be played on a UK console (region 2). The playstation is only 'region locked' on movies." This is wrong, PS1 and 2 are not region free on games, for a UK system you must have a PAL formatted disc for it to play, American and canadiam disc and consoles are formatted differently therefor you will not be able to play them. The PS3 however, sony decided to make region free games but it is still region locked on DVD's.
A "chipped" PlayStation 2 is one that has a modchip installed. A modchip is a special chip that adds features to the PlayStation 2 or allows you to bypass certain restrictions, such as playing games from a different region or playing backup copies.
There is more than one region, the most major being: "NTSC" - America and "PAL" - Europe/Australia
No. Playstations are region-locked; they cannot play discs from different regions without modification.
I doubt it. The PS1 and PS2 are region-encoded, so only games from the same region as the console will work. Yes, im 99% sure that ps2 and ps1 games are not region encoded.
Yes. For whatever reason, Australia and Europe are considered to be in the same region, so regional lockouts do not come into play.
No they are different Playstation stores in each region and you must be part of that region with your address to use that store
