First off, it's refreshing to see so much concern coming from a younger brother to an older brother. A mistake that the Educational System can make is that some students learn quicker by sight rather than sound. Meaning, if a teacher is talking about a certain subject some students don't retain the knowledge as quickly as if the teacher actually showed them on paper. This is not at all uncommon and I have no idea why it's not introduced into the Educational System. You could make a suggestion that your brother asks the help from one or more of the teachers that and express his concerns. Often you come across very dedicated teachers that are willing to help all they can if a student makes the effort to ask for the help or ask the help of another student that excels in his education. I say "he" because having a female student help your brother would only be distracting. Just because a person requires help in some areas of their life doesn't mean they are stupid. It's a wise person that realizes they can't know everything and asks for help. Unless there are other factors such as your brother just wanting to party or does drugs (not accusing your brother of this) then studying a great deal is one of the leading factors in some students for depression. Depression has risen greatly in the Universities of British Columbia, Canada. He may feel over-whelmed and doesn't know where to start. Depression can be greatly misunderstood. Depression doesn't mean your brother will always be depressed, but he needs help. Being depressed stops you from concentrating and thus, whatever you endeavor is more difficult to do. I have a girlfriend who's 25 year old son was studying so hard in University. He seemed to be making a solid effort, but he forgot one thing ... to have a little fun every so often. Because he was into Bio Med he didn't have a lot of time and thus didn't have time for a girlfriend. His goal was to study hard and graduate and land a good job. In the midst of University he became severely depressed (too much studying) and he went to the doctor on his own and took antidepressants for approx. 6 months. This was enough to see him over the hump; he graduated and has landed himself an excellent paying job in one of the top companies. Now he know his limitations and incorporates fun and relationship with work and hasn't had to take antidepressants since. See if you can get your brother to your family doctor. You can call the doctor's office (is confidential) to let them know that you are bringing your brother in (or he's coming on his own) because you feel he's depressed. The doctor will make the proper diagnosis. Your brother is extremely lucky to have a brother like you! Good luck!

I have never heard either of these two terms before, so I'm going to hazard a guess. There are two kinds of men who are addressed as "brothers", the first would be men would were in a religious Order and studying to be a priest, I guess that would be what you are calling a "clerical brother" because they are on their way to becoming a cleric. I, for sure, have never heard of a cooperative brother, but, by process of elimination, this would be a religious brother who was not studying of the priesthood, and was just a member of a religious institute.
Chris Benoit committed suicide because he was on steroids and he went crazy. No, he was mentally ill and depressed because basically his "brother" died.

Because your brother is studying hard for his exams he cannot do two things at one time; study and see his friends. His friends are either studying themselves or are out together. Talk to your brother and tell him to make arrangements with his friends for a Saturday night as one night out with his friends will probably clear his head and give him a break from his studies. Too much studying will drain a person and a little fun never hurt anyone.
Tell him to buy a "Vampire Proof Collar". If the Vampire tries to suck his neck area, he'll break his teeth and toothless Vampires get depressed and die.
