He gave fire to the men, so they had power over the animals, which Zeus did not want to happen.

From what little I know of the Rockafellers and the large amount I know of Prometheus, I'm sure an answer can be gleaned from this: Prometheus brought fire to uncivilized man, making them civilized. In one myth tradition, man was actually created by Prometheus. In another, man was made in the image of Prometheus. It can be said that although Prometheus was a Titan, the gods above the Olympians, he was the closest link between gods and men. That's full of symbolism right there.
Prometheus wanted to give man the gift of fire even when he knew the consequences of his decision because he loved man so much that he risked his immortal body for them in attempting to give them hope of the future, and in trying to bring them closer to the gods, also to make them thrive above all the other animals of the earth.
He stole fire from them. As a result, Zeus chained him to a mountain in the Caucasus Range for all of eternity where an eagle would eat his liver daily. His liver would regenerate by night only to have the process repeat. Eventually, he was freed by Hercules.
He gave fire to the men, so they had power over the animals, which Zeus did not want to happen.

Prometheus (Counsel Before, Forethought): was the Titan god of forethought and crafty counsel who was entrusted with the task of molding mankind out of clay. Epimetheus (Afterthought, Counsel Afterwards): was the Titan god of afterthought, the father of excuses. He and his brother Prometheus were given the task of populating the earth with animals and men. However, Epimetheus quickly exhausted the supply of gifts allotted for the task in the equipment of animals, leaving Prometheus' masterpiece, mankind, completely helpless.
Prometheus made mankind from clay in Greek mythology. Prometheus shaped man from mud.

men used to hunt animals and they used them for food and to make clothes out of their skin or fur
Prometheus first made them out of clay. After the flood, Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha threw walks over their shoulders and made a tougher race of men.
In Greek mythology Prometheus was a Titan. The Titans were the Gods that were in charge before the Olympians took over. Prometheus sided with the Olympians in the war of succession but after wards was considered to be something of a poor cousin. He is the one credited with the creation of man from earth -- hence the equating with Dr. Frankenstein. Also Prometheus came to a bad end (he stole fire from the Gods to give to men which offended Zeus. So he got chained to a rock with an eagle visiting him every day and eating out his liver.) So the association is also an ominous one.
Men were made by either Prometheus or Kora/Persephone. The first woman created was Pandora, she was made by Hephaestus.
Many mountain men did wear fur as it came from the things they could hunt. It kept them warm in the winter, and there was a constant supply of it from the animals in the area.
AMount of waste is comparable. Scat is a term for animals.
