Caste. Its a system where the society is divided in to 4 major classes. Brahmin(Priest/Educators), Kshatriya(Warrior), Vaisya(Merchants/Business) and Sudra(the rest poor) in the order of importance.

There are various sub classes in it... making a web of tangle.
