Don't be confused by the channel numbers. Many stations changed channels but are still using their old channel numbers, this problem will get ironed out later. There is a channel 4 here which moved to channel 33 but are still using the old channel 4 designation.
Set top box is basically used to convert the digital signals broadcasted by digital signal broadcasters to analog signals, in case you wish to have your analog tv, but would like to have an access to digital channels. Digital channels definitely have better quality signals than analog and therefore you will have a better picture quality and signal quality even though you have converted the digital signals to analog.
It is not possible to convert an analog television to a digital television. However, by using a digital set top receiver, it is possible to receive digital signals and deliver them as an analog signal to an analog television. Digital receivers are not expensive, starting at around $25 in US and £20 in the UK. They will allow all terrestrial channels to be received in the same way that a digital television will. Cable and satellite receivers can also receive digital signals and will provide an analog output that can be used with older televisions. With these options, there is no need to replace analog televisions right away. Remember that analog only televisions will not be HD so don't expect a sudden increase in picture quality when the digital receivers are used.
Yes you will. The digital switch over that is progressing in many countries is supported by the promotion of digital set top boxes. They are available at a minimal cost ($25 in the US or £20 in the UK for example). The set top box receives the digital transmissions and converts the signal to analog video and audio signals to be fed into an analog television. With a very few exceptions, analog televisions will not handle HD channels but they should be quite capable of receiving all SD channels. Similarly, most satellite and cable boxes have SD analog outputs so analog televisions will work with most broadcast platforms.
In the US the answer is probably not. Digital and analog TV broadcasts use the same frequencies and antennas. Digital TV is more fussy about signal quality than the older analog signals. So if you get marginal analog reception, figure on getting a new antenna for digital. The idea that there are special HDTV antennas is just marketing hype. Any antenna that gives you better digtial reception will also give you better digital reception.
Get a digital to analog converter box or connect it to a digital DVD or vcr.
Not necessarily, many stations have changed frequencies (channels) and transmitter location for HD transmission. Don't forget to rescan the TV every few months.
In a analog transmitter the RF carrier have to be modulated with the analog signal either by AM or FM where in digital transmitter the carrier is simply switched on and off a off = a zero and on = a one
both but for analog usually a frequency Carrier is required
The advantages of digital radio over analog radio are digital radios get more channels than analog, they are clearer in sound and signal and have more additional features.
They will be assigned to other services.
It must be an analog filter. The high frequencies must be attenuated before any digital sampling takes place, to ensure that these high frequencies are not sampled as false signals. See the related link.

Though radio seems an ancient technology by today's standards, radio frequencies (e.g. "channels") remain one of the most stable forms of nationwide communication. During an emergency, television digital channels may fail, but analog radio will still broadcast.
It will work with the channels that have switched to digital, but unless your converter box can take in both analog and digital, you will have to wait for the analog ones to switch.

A digital input (in the form of a number) is converted into analog format, which could be a voltage or a signal frequency, for example. An example, which most people would be familiar with, is your touch tone phone. When you press a key on the phone, that is a digital input. The output is actually 2 frequencies mixed together (analog signal). Each row of keys on your phone is associated with a frequency, and then each column of keys is associated with a frequency. The two frequencies combined represent the row and column of the key that was pressed. At the phone company, they use analog filters to determine what frequencies were generated by your phone, and from that, determine which key was pressed (this is Analog to Digital conversion).
