Major one, there were others, but the Carpathia gets historical first place as the fastest to the rescue. The founder of NBC, David Snaroff, was the radio man; the wireless had just gotten into commercial usage and S.O. S just got there.
There is more to the situation than the movie with deCaprio and the really good looking girl on the prow of the ship.
Example: the North Star Line's problems really made it much safer to go anywhere by boat; the safety provisons got serious even for people who were not rich and who were below deck.
Certainty to this day about the problems with the design have not been resolved.
President William H. Taft was in the midst of a reelection campaign which at the time was creating deep divisions from within the Republican party. Though the Titanic disaster put a pause to politics, he did little to help Titanic survivors. He did not launch an investigative commission on the disaster, nor did he do the sensible thing and not have flags be lowered for a national mourning. His only positive ties to Titanic was that he spoke at the funeral of Major Archibald Butt, who was a Titanic victim and close friend of Taft's.
There were at least 3, but they were either unaware of the catastrophe or unable to respond in time to save most of the victims, many of whom were immersed in ice-cold water. The RMS Carpathia was the closest and eventually rescued many of those in the Titanic's lifeboats, arriving at the scene about an hour and a half after Titanic went down, or about 4 AM on April 15, 1912. It returned to New York with the survivors. The SS Californian was thought to have been within sight of Titanic, but it is possible that it was the SS Mount Temple, which arrived at the sinking site after the Carpathia had completed rescue operations. All three ships were later sunk by German ships during World War I.Other ships had passed nearby the day before and warned of the ice fields that sank Titanic : SS Amerika, RMS Caronia, RMS Baltic, and the steamer Mesaba.
Nobody died, or was even hurt, during Titanic's collision with the iceberg. Captain Smith had been resting, but not retired because witnesses say he was present almost right away and fully dressed.
No one lived on the titanic. They just stayed there during there trip.712 people lived (and 1,496 people died) on Titanic.Nobody lives on the Titanic. The Titanic was a passenger ship which sunk on the 15th April 1912.There were 2,223 passengers and crew on board.1,517 of them died.3 of the 1,517 dead, died aboard the Carpathia after being rescued.706 survived.
In fact, no one specifically saved the people on board. Alot of the lifeboats used were not occupied to their full capacity, as first class passengers wanted more room. Staff were lowering life boats.
Yes. Both the United States and Britain conducted individual month-long investigations of the sinking. The American one occurred first, the day after the survivors arrived in New York, and the British one occurred immediately afterwards, within a few days after the survivors arrived back in Britain. Many survivors were forced to testify at both inquiries.
No. It melted within weeks of the sinking. All icebergs melt within a few months of breaking off from the arctic, and the iceberg was already well into its lifespan.

There was no ship called Britannica in the Atlantic during the sinking of Titanic. There was Britannic, which was one of it's sister ships, but it didn't actually set sail until 1914. There was also a Britannic that was built in 1929 and there was Britannia that was built in 1840 and decommissioned in 1880. You may be thinking of the Californian, which was within 20 miles of the Titanic at the time of its sinking. However, they did not go to her aid.
Possibly you mean 'arrested on the Titanic'. Nobody was arrested during the sinking, but enquiries were held in New York and Southampton within a few weeks of the sinking, and many witnesses were not allowed home before they gave evidence.

The Titanic held over 8,000 tons of coal within her bunkers.

they say anytime within the next 3-95 years.
OK, the closest ship to the Titanic when it sent out the distress signal was the California. It did have a wireless radio because all ships did at the time. Its wireless was turned off for the night because of the rude message the Titanic sent to it so it couldn't hear the Titanic's messages. Unfortunately, the California was only 2 hours away from the Titanic and would have gotten to the doomed ship in time. The only ship within range was The Carpathia which was the one who came to the rescue.
