Without Sir Francis Drake, the course of maritime exploration and English naval power could have shifted significantly. Drake’s circumnavigation of the globe in the late 16th century not only demonstrated the potential for overseas expansion but also bolstered England's status as a formidable maritime nation. His contributions to the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588 helped secure England's dominance at sea, which may have been delayed or diminished without his influence. Consequently, the absence of Drake might have altered the balance of power in Europe and the establishment of British colonial ventures.
the world will be like a body without soul
Mercenary, I'm afraid. He sailed to attack Spanish ships that were shipping valuables that they themselves were plundering from central and southern America. This would enhance English influence and control over the oceans, and whilst the Crown (Elizabeth I) would have first dibs at the booty, he would have second call - then the ships' officers and crew.
As with all explorers of the time he would have liked to have found a water route to Asia. He was also a Sea dog and raided Spanish ships for the English crown. He also wanted to keep the Spanish out of the Pacific.
The world would have been different because there would have never been African American or black people play in baseball history
He had absolutely nothing to do with it. Drake snatched his rhyme and quoted the MD cause he knows the crest would have shot him up if he didn't. Drake himself told me that if Mac Dre was alive today, that he would have pimp slapped the f^*k out of him.
Drake probably used a compass as it was a very important tool at that time and without possibly the help of an astrolabe. It would be impossible for him to tell which direction he was going
he voyages of Sir Francis Drake changed the world in two ways. The first way was when Drake raided the Spaniards and killed many of them. That was the reason for the Spanish war. Ever since, they've had a rivalry. Also, he impacted the world by sailing around the world. People were inspired by that, so they decided to follow. These are the ways Sir Francis Drake impacted the world. Drake later died in 1596. Obviously, Sir Francis Drake was a great explorer. If he had not been forced to live on a boat, and have his rich cousin John Hawkins, he would not have been on any of his famous voyages. Drake's voyage around the world made people try and follow in his footsteps. Even though Drake started the Spanish war, he was a hero. Sir Francis Drake will be remembered by many people.
He was, indeed, but more accurate would be to say 'navigator'.
Sir Francis Drake took many things on his voyage to America; nearly all would have been things he, as a seaman, considered vital for a long sea voyage.
I dont think so because nathan drake would have said it in all teh uncharted which i have
No. Drake was English and going to Spain would have been the last place he would have been. Spain and England were at war. Columbus was FROM Spain.
my guess is sir francis drake. Living today, I would suggest Mike Perham. He has single-handledly sailed around the World at a very young age.
Francis did not do anything for Canada recorded in history
The spanish armarda was the people who battled against Sir Francis Drake.
Yes, she did. This was when the Spanish would be going to explore the Americas, then (I think it was Francis Drake) they would sneak onto their ships and raid them. But not with pirates. Anyway, the Spanish would come back furious, and she would deny every claim and pretend like she didn't do anything. AND THEY BELIEVED HER! The Spanish thought they were robbed by pirates...
Sir Francis Drake was a privateer with papers from the British crown allowing him to plunder on the high seas as long as the crown got a cut of the 'booty.' Being a privateer he would have flown the flag of his home country, in this case Britain. At no time did he work as a regular pirate, though the French of that time would certainly have disagreed, so he would not have flown under any type of Jolly Roger.
Life was very different for children back in 1540 when Francis Drake was born. He grew up in England as the oldest of 12 sons (large families were the norm in those days). His father was Edmund Drake and his mother was Mary Mylwaye Drake. Francis's father was a farmer, who lived on the estate of Lord Francis Russell, the second earl of Bedford (Lord Francis Russell was also Francis Drake's godfather). We do not know much about his relationship with his family, but we have no reason to believe there was anything unusual about it. In the mid-1500s, the idea of kids getting a formal education was only for the upper-class, and only for boys. Francis was not a noble, so he was apprenticed at what to us today would seem a young age. He was sent to work for a merchant who sailed coastal waters from England to France and back, trading goods between those two countries. In those days, that is how a young man learned a skill or a trade, and that how Francis Drake spent his youth.
