If the Sun went out, or suddenly disappeared, it would start to get cold within the first few hours, and REALLY cold within the first day. Sometime in the middle of the week, most of the rivers and lakes would be frozen over. By the beginning of the second week,,the atmosphere would begin to freeze and settle on the ground as "oxygen snow". We'd probably be dead by then, but some people in sealed habitats might survive for a while, especially if there was a nuclear power plant available to melt the oxygen frost back into breathable air. Nuclear-powered submarines might be the best places to be, because they can be sealed tight. They'd need to come up with some space suits for the sailors to wear when they were out collecting the frozen air.

Deep mine shafts could be warmed by the heat of the interior of the planet; Earths' core would remain molten for many millions of years, even if the Sun disappeared completely. If we had a few months advance warning of the catastrophe, it might be feasible to send enough humans to colonize the deep caves and mine shafts.

What would it be the world without History?

the world will be like a body without soul

Do you think that the scientific and technological advances of the 1800s improved people's lives?

Of course it did! Without the help or scientific advances of these times we would bathe or have surgeries performed to the best extent that we can. I mean come on would you like walking around with the smell of a month old 'fancy' ketchup stain on your shirt, because remember without these advances you wouldn't change your clothes :D, I think not! How could you LIVE without the technology advances! You probably couldn't! and would be dead RiGhT now! Think about it! You would have never have that 'game boy' or that 'play station' without the oh so wonderful 1800's!

How much would a flight to Finland cost?

I just flew from LAX to Amsterdam. the round trip was about $1300.00 i also flew to spain and mallorca,Spain and went all over... I would asssume you could get to amsterdam and then finland for cheaper then straight to finland... a direct flight would be probably 2,000 round trip.. possibly 1000 to 1500 for a one way ticket but i live in california... sooo if you live on the east side it should be cheaper...

It strangle its prey and crack all its bone and then slowly swallow it up. The above tells how, but does not answer the question, which is 'How often?'. From memory, it's fairly infrequent, once a week or less.
