First of all there are two different novels- both with involved plots. I am only familiar ( in a browsing way) with one of them. This was a novel by Ernest K Gann. It was NOT a war novel but had detective overtones. a group of associated but not commercially associated ( they worked for different lines) Commercial Air pilots banded together ( hence the title) to investigate a suspicious accident which the airmen turned gumshoes claimed was No Accident. The thought that mature responsible men would join hands in a sort of Three Musketeers sort of plot line boggles the mind.. if they got caught ( all these guys seemed to be ex-Intelligence types) they could be blackballed for Life. This took place ( the story) in the seventies and involved modern Jetliners. The other Band of Brothers is about Paratroops or Infantry in the ETO and I am sure there are locations given , as would be necessary in battle maps, etc. It is in Europe, not the Pacific theater, as the enemy is the German Reich. They are two different novels.
