When will season 2 of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency aire on HBO?

I've heard that there is suppose to be a season 2! I really enjoy that show as well and hope that a new season comes on soon!

We LOVE this show & hope there are many seasons. Why did the person write "hopefully not"?

I have no idea why anyone would write "hopefully not" in regards to this program. I found this program entertaining, beautifully shot, very well acted, interesting, balanced and with stories that kept my attention. Oddly enough, I got my parents interested in it and they are very much into the political programs that are on every evening (an MSNBC sweep for them) whereas I watch an array of things. I found this program one which I, a single, 30ish, male New Yorker could enjoy, as well as my 70yo + parents. I believe that kids over the age of 7 could enjoy and a parent could feel confident that they are not watching profanity or violence. The show was set up so the story could be told, regarding sometimes heavy topics like death, miscarriages, domestic violence, murder, but in a very PG way, not even PG-13. I really hope that it does have a Season 2 but wonder if the 1st season, after such few episodes, could pick up a following. I imagine, indeed, that it is also quite costly to shoot, given that much of it, per the info I read, was shot in Botswana. If it does come back on, I surely shall watch it, especially since they left us hanging last year with Precious and her mechanic friend, about to get married. Also will note that having a show in the US, be so enjoyable, given that it takes place in Africa, and we are in, seemingly, a xenophobic rut, is important, so our youth can see that there is a world outside the USA, and a positive one at that. One that is not war torn, terrorist filled or in constant turmoil. Just people of another culture on another continent trying to get through life, one day at a time, as most Americans do. This is something I would want my nieces and nephews to see. I will assume, perhaps foolishly, that there will be a Season 2 and state that I look forward to watching each episode. I am glad I "tivo'd" last season as I enjoy watching them again, now and then. Peace Out!
