Best bet would be to write to Marlin and ask them. They pay attention. You can find their address at www.marlinfirearms.com .
Acrylic plastic is a synthetic polymer. It was developed in the late 1920's "in various labs" meaning there was a lot of parallel development and there is no "one place" or "one time" when it popped into existence. It is attractive, tough, durable, soft enough to work with standard hand and machine tools, reasonably priced and widely available. But it can be scratched easily and may not come in the "right" color or shape as stock for a construction project. Good luck with yours.
Need a DETAILED description of ALL markings, barrel length, sights, stock material, finish, overall condition, box, papers, etc..

For some reason, two, the NSE and the BSE. NSE is the National Stock Exchange, BSE is the Bombay Stock Exchange. A Stock Exchange is the place where investors go to buy/sell their shares. You know what an Equity share is. Pls refer to Equity Sharesfor more details. Once a company's public offering is complete, it gets listed in a stock exchange. After listing it would be available for trading to all investors in the stock exachanges where they are listed. In India we have two major stock exchanges. They are: 1. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) & 2. The Bombay Stock Exchanges (BSE)

The BL (Big Loop) has a laminate stock, a large finger loop (for shooting with gloves), and a slightly shorter stock for shorter length of pull. The W has a walnut stock, which is a little less expensive than some of their other models. Its stock is also a little longer for a longer length of pull. For the same barrel length, the shorter overall length of the BL makes it my choice!
No, a Marlin 881 stock cannot fit in a model 81. The stock would fit an 881, not an 81.
I believe that the marlin model 30AW(all weather) stock was a walnut finished birch stock.
