In Death Note what is the full cycle of the note books in detail?
The Shinigami goes down to the human world and "drops" the Death Note that they had prepared for the human. Then a human picks up this notebook, and within a few days or weeks, that human will see and be followed by the Shinigami that previously owned that Death Note. Once the Death Note is being used, with each human that person kills, the remaining life span of the one killed is transferred to the Shinigami. When the person with the Death Note dies, either the ownership goes back to the Shinigami, or the next human that picks it up, and then the Shinigami that followed the previous person, now follows the new owner. Alternatively, if the question refers to the notebooks as they were transfered from person to person throughout the series: Sidoh's - Ryuk takes it and drops it in the human world. Light picks it up and uses it. Rem becomes the shinigami in possession of the note (instead of Ryuk). Rem takes it to Higuchi. It is taken as evidence by Japanese Task Force. It is given to the Mafia. It Goes back to task force. It is taken to the yellowbox warehouse. It is burned. Rem's - It kills L and Watari. Light takes it. He Gives to Mikami. It is taken by the SPK. It is burned. Ryuk's- It kills Light and goes back to shinigami realm, never leaving Ryuk's possession. Gelus's- It is left ownerless when Gelus dies. It is given to Misa Amane. Misa uses it and gives it to Light. Ryuk becomes the shinigami possessing the notebook (instead of Rem). It is buried. Misa digs it up later. Note: The "cycle" of Gelus' notebook is incomplete. Anyone who can fill it in should do so.
