Entering that mansion, you can see another entrance straight from the door you passed through and that's Trophy Garden. Alternately, you can also go west of Pastoria City and the swampy route and up north to reach the mansion as well.
Pikachu, as far as I know, can only be found at the trophy garden. The trophy garden is located beneath Hearthome city. The guy that owns the mansion dedicates his life to filling his garden with rare Pokemon for you to catch.
I'm assuming you mean how you can release your Pokemon so they can walk alongside you, right? Well, the only way you can do that is in Amity Square located in the northwest or northeast corners of Hearthome City in the Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum games. You cannot send them out to walk with you anywhere outside of Amity Square.

depends what mansion ur talking about. is it the old chateau? if it is, its located in eterna forest. probably near the exit of it where theres 3 trees that you are able to cut down and after, theres the mansion :) good luck finding the secrets there :P Another mansion is probably the one from route 212 south of hearthome. travel down hearthome and make your way thru down. its the huge mansion on the left you can miss it. only a retard with magikarp could miss it.
