After the first Halloween wrapped, Debra Hill who was one of the producers, took the mask home and kept it under her bed in a shoebox for 3 years till the sequel was made wherein they used the same mask. Originally, Michael was going to die with the sequel so since they deemed that the character of Michael and his costume was non-essential at that point, they let the actor that portrayed him in the sequel take it home. The actor in question, Dick Warlock, reportedly sold the mask and the costume to a private collector here in Ohio who owns multiple haunted houses. The name of this collector has never been disclosed and he reportedly NEVER allows photos of the mask to be taken.
