The tomb of Hulagu Khan, the Mongol ruler and founder of the Ilkhanate, is located in the town of Takht-i Soleyman in present-day Iran. This site, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features a complex of ancient ruins including a Zoroastrian fire temple and other structures. The tomb itself is part of a larger archaeological site that reflects the historical significance of the region during the Mongol Empire.
Genghis Khan did not directly rule India. His Mongol Empire primarily expanded across Central Asia and parts of China during his lifetime in the early 13th century. However, his descendants, particularly through the invasions led by his grandson Hulagu Khan and later Timur, did impact northern India. Yet, these influences were more about raids and lesser control rather than direct governance.

Hul Gu, better known as Hulagu Khan and also known as Hulagu, Hülegü, or Hulegu. (c. 1217 - Febuary 8, 1265), was a Mongol ruler who conquered much of Southwest Asia. Son of Tolue and the Kerait princess Sorghaghtani Beki, he was a grandson of Genghis Khan, and the brother of Arik Boke, Mongke and the great Kubalai Khan. Hulagu's army greatly expanded the southwestern portion of the Mongol Empire, founding the Ilkhanate of Persia, a precursor to the eventual Safavid Dynasty, and then the modern state of Iran. Under Hulagu's leadership, the Mongols destroyed the two greatest centers of Islamic power, Baghdad and Damascus, causing a shift of Islamic influence to the Mamluks in Cairo. It was also in Hulagu's reign that historians switched from writing in Arabic, to writing in Persian.
