Nobody knows. The very first performances of a play caled Hamlet were not at the Globe Theater, however, which we know because references to Hamlet are found from a time before the Globe Theater existed. These may have been references to an earlier play by the same name, however.

Nobody knows.

The earliest known record of a 'Hamlet' performance, that we can be confident about, is from June of 1594. A man named Philip Henslowe briefly noted it in his diary (just the play name and date.)

In 1596, Thomas Lodge made a brief critical reference to a 'Hamlet' performance.

Earlier, Thomas Nashe made what's apparently a reference to 'Hamlet' in 1589. However, it is not known whether that might concern an earlier 'Hamlet' play, perhaps by Kyd, and not Shakespeare. Based on the fact that Francis Meres, in his Palladis Tamia: Wits Treasury (published in the autumn of 1598), didn't list Hamlet among Shakespeare's plays, it's likely that references to Hamlet being performed before 1598 refer to Kyd's play, which is lost now (and was likely never printed).

Thomas Kyd died in 1594, and it's possible Shakespeare took over the play at that time, to develop it and keep it in performance. However, this can only be a guess, since there are no documentary records.

The play was definitely written and performed before July 26 1602, when James Roberts entered the first quarto edition into the Stationer's Register.

It's hard to say, but there is an entry in the Stationer's Register in 1602 which says the play was "lately played" by the Chamberlain's Men. This would have put the first performance in 1601 or 1602.

It was written when Shakespeare felt like being depressing, some time during the depressing ages. That's when.

We don't know for sure. It was written before 1602 and probably after 1599. It was probably performed shortly thereafter. That leaves a very narrow window as Shakespeare plays go.

When do the curtains go up in Hamlet?

In theatres with a proscenium stage, it is possible to have a curtain (traveller) across the front of the stage. This would be drawn or raised at the beginning of the play. Hamlet was first performed and is commonly performed now on a thrust stage which has no curtain

What was the most famous play performed at the globe theatre?

OK, although there is no "fame-o-meter" by which we can determine which of a group of things is the most famous, there will be many who claim that Hamlet is the most famous play of all time in any language. And Hamlet (which premiered around 1601) was surely performed at the Globe (which was built in 1599).
