On April 10, 1912 the Titanic left Southampton, UK and set off on her maiden voyage towards New York City, US. She never made it to her destination because on April 15, 2012 she hit an iceberg and sank into the freezing North Atlantic Ocean, killing more than 1,500 of her passengers.
