Chandge the fuel filter first then try running some injector cleaner through it. If that doesn't work a mechanic will have to look at it.
chandge the fuel filter i had one that was partly blocked it would start up ok and tick over but just would not rev properly did filter prob solved
The dash panel has to be removed along with the steering wheel and steering column to access the plenum box. The plenum box then has to be removed to get to the heater core. This requires evacuating the AC system, draining the radiator, disconnecting all lines and removing the box. Replacing the heater core is simple when you get to this point. If the problem is lack of heat(not a physical leak), the problem is more likely with the blend doors on the Explorer. This is a very common fail mode. HeaterTreater has a line of products to address the issue at a low cost. Follow my user name to my Bio Page for more information. ford4me
The Speedo cable runs straight to the transmission. Have you had any tranny work or service's done recently or have you done any off road driving. The cable could be loose or the part needs replaced. I would check the condition of the cable and make sure everything is tight. If that's ok I would just replace the part and see what happens. MY speedo didnt work for awhile until I figured out that it just came loose. I had the transmission replaced and I guess the tech didnt tighten down the speedo to the trans. Luckly the same shop noticed it when I came in for an oil chandge. Lucky me.
as you look at your head unit, you will notice four holes, 2 on either side, these are the holes to the brackets holding your factory head in place, an actual tool can be purchased, but just get some Alan keys or coat hanger wire, now this is the tricky part... it doesnt just fall out, you'll have to fiddle around here for a while... i got annoyed and just ripped the face plate off the factory head, makes getting to the clips alot easier... but anyway, they will push in towards the head unit it self, and it will just pull out, unplug the loom and aerial cabling and get ready from more fun! the wiring colours are as follows, just match them up to your new heads loom colours; Violet/Red = Acc 12v+ Yellow = Battery 12v+ Black = Ground Brown = Illumination Dark Blue/Red = Dimming Pink = Mobile Phone Light Blue/Yellow = Mobile Phone Light Green = Mute Dark Green/White = Sat Nav Pink/Orange = Sat Nav Dark Blue = Sat Nav Pink/Black & Pink/Dark Green = LH Rear Dark Blue/Black & Dark Blue/Red = RH Rear Grey/Black & Grey/Dark Green = RH Front Orange/Black & Orange/Light Green = LH Front Red/Dark Blue = Power Antenna Red/White = External Controls (Volume on Steering Wheel) Light Blue/White = Intrument Cluster Red/Black = Instrument Cluster Orange/Black = Instrument Cluster the first colour being the main wire colour and the second being the stripe or dots take note on the fact you only really need power, acc, earth and speakers cut that over with what ever means you deem livable, i recommended striping back twitching (twisting together) and soldering, or butt connectors, or even spade is you can be bothered! hope it goes well! devo +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Falcon Forte AUII = Pioneer in dash DVD, 6.5" fold out touch screen with iPod control Alpine 6.5" 260w 3 way in front doors Alpine 6x9" 260w 3 way on rear shelf Pioneer 1200w mono block amp Pioneer Dual 700w 15" Subs
