No, Paul Newman (January 26, 1925 - September 26, 2008) did not win an Oscar in "Cool Hand Luke."

Specifically, the Ohio-born actor had eight Oscar nominations for best acting, one for best supporting actor and another for best picture. Only one of the nominations led to his Academy Award for Best Acting, in the 1986 film "The Color of Money." He received the award for reprising the role of Edward Felson from the 1959 movie "The Hustler," for which he received a nomination but not the award.
