'Waterloo Road' is the fictional name for the School, and also the TV drama programme's title.

The new site:

From Autumn this year (2012) the production is moving to Scotland from the Hilltop School in Kirkholt, Rochdale. Obviously it will be in a new school. The new location for it is at the former Greenock Academy in Greenock, Inverclyde.

Filming starts here in April 2012

The old Site:

.The BBC School Drama Waterloo Road's Filming Location Is The Former Hill Top Primary School In Rochdale, Manchester.

As Of 2008, The Set Will Be Demolished And Built Into A More Unique Space Forcing Waterloo Road Producers To Find Another Filming Space For The School.

The School is not Hilltop primary school, that is on the same plot, but next door.

The School was Thornham Middle School, formally known as Kirkholt Secondary Modern School, I know because I went to both of these schools during my school years. It was a great school, and its wonderful to see it on TV. It does not look to have changed much. The School was used for this series, and according to my friend who still lives in the area its still standing today. 02.05.2010.
