Well, It totally depends on your choice and physical body type.

Assuming that we are talking about Sleeper / AC 3 Tier

If you are tall, more than 5′10″ then you should try to avoid side lower & side upper because you won’t have enough space to sleep well and your feet will keep touching people passing by. Best Seat For Tall People Is Upper Berth as you will have adequate space + your feet won’t touch anyone because upper berth is at a good height.

If you are a rail enthusiast like me and can manage discomfort to enjoy the views, then opt for the side lower seat, it gives you a really good view at night and you can see the night view of stations and enjoy it.

If you are travelling alone and you want to keep your handbags/ laptop bag safe, then don’t opt for side seats because there are high chances that the thief might pick your bag and run away, it is better to have a normal upper seat in terms of safety + the AC is really close so you will feel good and sleep well.

If the person is old then opt for normal lower berth as it is the most comfortable seat and people with physical problems and old people prefer normal lower berth.

Middle berth and Side Upper Are Never The 1st Choice, They Are The Most Uncomfortable seats and You should avoid them if you have a choice.
