The Ghost Dance was a practice of the Paiute or possibly Sioux Indians in the latter part of the Nineteenth Century, Intended to, as the name suggests, conjure up spirits. As far as I know, this has no connection with the Wizard of Oz. Indians play no role in the plot, nor to cowboys . There is a farm background, more down-to-earth.
