Buffy the Vampire Slayer distinguished itself from other TV shows by regularly killing off main and recurring characters. These included: Tara, Anya, Joyce Summers, Jenny Calendar, Kendra, Larry, Warren, the Master, Glory, Ben, and Adam. And of course some characters died but came back, including Buffy and Harmony.
Professor Walsh and Forrest were killed by Adam.
Potential Slayers Annabelle and Molly were killed in season 7 and Potential Slayer Chloe committed suicide also in season 7. In the same season most of the Watchers' Council were killed in an explosion.
Cassie Newton died from natural causes while Buffy attempted in vain to save her life
Edit:
SPOILER ALERT
"Good Guys":
Tara, Anya, Joyce, Jenny Calendar, Kendra, Buffy (twice), Spike. (I'm missing some I think)
"Bad Guys":
Warren, Johnathan, The Master, Glory, Ben, Adam, Professor Maggie Walsh, Forrest, Caleb, Principle Snyder, Darla, The Annointed One (spike calls him The Annoying One)
Potential Slayers:
Annabel, Eve, Chloe, Amanda, Molly, ect.
Majorly injured:
Xander (loses an eye)
Riley (Chemicals from the Initiative nearly kills him)
She wasn't ever a robot, really. Spike had gotten a 'Buffy-bot' to help him with his 'sexual desires' while Buffy wasn't with him. When Buffy dies, sacrificing herself, they use they same Buffy-bot to help around Sunnydale.
After The Master drowned her, Xander performed CPR, removing the water form her body, and giving her air. This is the point where the Slayer's Prophecy comes into play. When a Slayer dies, another is born. Buffy dies, so another is bought to life. But, Buffy herself is revived, thus having the presence of two slayers at one time.
Season 5! because that's when Glory shows up looking for the key which is Dawn and when Buffy dies for the second time
"Seeing Red," episode 19 of season six.
Usually, when a slayer dies, the next one is activated. In Buffy's case, this was Kendra. Kendra was killed, hence, Faith was activated. The activation of the next slayer only happens once in Buffy's case. Technically, Buffy had already died once before 'The Gift'. Her replacement had already been activated and killed, so there wouldn't be another when she died the second time. If you want to get REALLY technical, Buffy died 3 times on the show. Although it was an alternate dimension, she was killed in 'The Wish'. So REALLY technically, there is an alternate dimension Kendra, presumably still alive, thus no Faith.
The body
Season 5 "The Gift" is the last time she dies but her friends resurrect her, but other than that Buffy never dies and stays dead

Yes, Tara is resurrected by Willow in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," but she ultimately dies later in the series.
Buffy dies at the end because the master (BIG VAMP) drowns her but then Xander and Angel find her. Xander does mouth to mouth and brings her back to life where she goes and kills the master. Darla also dies in season 1, (she is killed by Angel). She is brought back by Wolfram and Hart in "Angel."
Well can tell u who dies in each season season one: Buffy dies but is bought back season two: angel has to die but he comes back in season 3 angel kills jenny calender while he was evil season 3:idk if anyone dies i dont rember season 4: i dont think anyone dies season 5: joyce summer dies season 6: tara dies season 7 anyanka dies
"Seeing Red," episode 19 of season six.
The first time, she dies for a minute when she drowns, at the hands of the master. The second time, she dies when she sacrifices her life to save the world by jumping into a portal, thereby closing it and ending the blending together of all dimensions.Technically, she also dies in the "wishverse" in the episode "The Wish." In this episode, an alternate universe Buffy fights the master and dies. When she is shot by Warren, she does not die.
