The Queen's Provincial Representative: Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia

The Legislature of Nova Scotia consists of Her Majesty the Queen of Canada (represented by a Lieutenant Governor), and the House of Assembly. The Lieutenant Governor is appointed by the Governor General of Canada, on the advice of the prime minister, and serves at the Queen's pleasure. The current representative of the Queen is Her Honour the Honourable Mayann E. Francis, O.N.S., the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia.

Members of the House of Assembly of Nova Scotia

The House of Assembly has 52 members, each of whom is elected at each provincial general election using a system of single-member plurality. Each member of the House represents a single electoral district for Nova Scotia.
