Did the builders of the Titanic claim that she was unsinkable?

The Titanic was built to be as unsinkable as possible, but the builders never made that claim from what I have gathered. Nautical publications of the time declared that the liner was unsinkable, and this belief took hold with the public.

Who said that the ship was unsinkable?

Technically, everyone said the Titanic was unsinkable, though the White Star Line never made the claim. People thought this because the Titanic had compartments, and if one was filled with water, it would close and the ship would be fine. However, too many compartments filled when the iceberg hit.

Is the titanic called the unsinkable titanic?

It was considered so. Because of the system of watertight compartments. It was also thought to be "unsinkable" because it was such a big ship. It was the biggest ship ever (biggest and best) and noone things the biggest (and/or best) will ever fail (sink) Today it is not know as the unsinkable Titanic and before it sank nobody said it was unsinkable. The closest anybody came to saying it was unsinkable was on a poster advertising the ship saying Titanic is as unsinkable as is reasonably possible.

What claim was made about the Titanic before it sailed?

It was supposed to be 'the unsinkable Titanic', though this was never officially claimed. A journalist had used the phrase 'virtually unsinkable', and a porter said "God himself couldn't sink this one."

How has the titanic been remembered?

well it was remembered because it at the time titanic was the worlds largest ship and they said it was unsinkable so they only put out half of the life boats needed on it because they thought it was unsinkable. more than half the people died on it when it sunk. plus it was the most famous shipwreck in the world and they made a really famous movie out of it so personally i think the titanic will be remembered for many more years.
