According to legend, Osceola stabbed the Treaty of Payne's Landing with his knife, refusing to agree to give up the Seminole lands. That is probably one reason why he is famous.

∙ 10y agoBilly Powell, also known as Osceola, was the leader and war chief of the Seminoles. He was not full blooded Indian, but had a mix of Creek, English, Scottish and Irish in his bloodline.
