Noone knows exactly but most likely the White Star Line, Titanics's parent company, quietly re-purposed them for another of their vessels.

There was 24 lifeboats, 4 buckeled. There was room for only half the passengers, but less than half when the sinking took place. if there were more lifeboats, it would have helped the passengers. Than there would be everybody surviving, exept for those who ware ready to die, or a captain.
Titanic was a big ship. Even with a big hole in its side, it took awhile for enough water to leak in and sink the ship.
for the titanic to sink was perfectly predicted was 2 hours but the problem was is that the closest boat was 4 hours away
It took 4 hours to get all the survivors from the lifeboats to the ship from 4 am to 8 am on April 15, 1912.
The R.M.S Carpathia docked in new york on the 18th April 1912 at Pier 54 with the survivors from the R.M.S Titanic and then took the recovered lifeboats to Pier 59.

There is plenty of blame to go around for the sinking of the Titanic, although Bruce Ismay probably could have prevented it if he had taken the danger seriously. As for the deaths, most of them were caused by the coldness of the water and not enough lifeboats, yet the Titanic actually had more lifeboats than the law required at the time. A study of this disaster reveals many chances to avoid it, but it took the sinking of the ship before these chances were noted and the faults corrected.
It only had 20 lifeboats because the ship builders thought it would be "unsinkable" and a waste of deck space. There were supposed to be 64 lifeboats as planned but they believed that it wouldn't sink. It also took a lot of deck space. Also they thought that first class need much more deck space than the other classes.
