In "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson, several characters meet their end throughout the story. Key deaths include the pirate Pew, who is trampled by horses, and the mutineer Israel Hands, who is mortally wounded by Jim Hawkins. Additionally, the ship's captain, Captain Smollett, survives, but several crew members and pirates die during the conflict, including the treacherous Silver's allies. Overall, the novel's themes of betrayal and adventure lead to a number of fatalities among both the pirates and the loyal crew.

The Walrus.
In Teasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Jim Hawkins, who narrates, never states exactly what illness his father suffers from. We know he is sick even at the start of the book, though, because Dr. Livesey visits the inn to check in on Jim's father. Jim believes the stress and tension of hosting the Captain, Billy Bones, drove his father more quickly to his death. Though he does not describe it in detail, in chapter three, Jim states that his father died suddenly.
