Why are movie remakes so stupid like the 2011 movie Footloose and the upcoming remake movie of Grease called Grease 3?

because if it isn't broke...don't fix it. These movies were such a success at the time they want to duplicate it and get the green $$ for themselves. The want to capture the nostalgia of the older viewers and use the same formula for success for all.
