Anne Hutchinson was banished for several reasons. First, she believed that if you were truly saved by God then you did not need to be follow the laws of niether God nor man which is know as antinomianism. Then when she was brought to trial for this belief, she claimed that her beliefs were a direct revelation from God, which angered the Puritans even more. With the fear that she would pollute the rest of the Puritan population with her beliefs, she was exiled.

She set out for Rhode Island on foot while she was pregnant.
