Some reports indicate that the radio operator on the Californian had turned his radio off after having received a rude complaint from the Titanic radio operator. The Titanic radio operator had complained that the frequent iceberg warnings from the Californian were interfering with him sending personal radio messages from the Titanic passengers.

Why didn't the Californian receive titanic s message?

From what ship did the Titanic receive the final iceberg warning?

Titanic received six warnings of icebergs by telegraph and three more by signal lamp. Warning ships include: Mesaba, the Noordam, the Amerika, Caronia, Baltic, Californian, Rappahannock, and La Touraine.

Why did the calafornian not go to aid the Titanic?

The Californian had attempted to send messages out warning of icebergs however, one of the radio operators was getting annoyed with the radio operator of the Californian as he was interrupting Titanics attempts at messaging Cape Race and told him to 'shut up'. The radio operator of California turned off his radio and therefore did not receive the distress call when the Titanic sent it out soon thereafter and went to bed. The Titanic had sent out distress rockets and whilst staff on the Californian did notice it they did not think it anything serious and did not follow up on it until about 5:30am - more than 3 hours after Titanic's final plunge. The SS Californian travelled through icy water (although it was said there was a more direct and clear route between their location and the titanic) to reach the location of the Titanic's sinking at about 8:30am. At that stage the Carpathia had already rescued the survivors and after communication between the ships left the Californian search the area for any other survivors. There were none to be found.

How many ice warning did the titanic receive in all?

Titanic received six warnings of icebergs by telegraph and three more by signal lamp. Warning ships include: Mesaba, the Noordam, the Amerika, Caronia, Baltic, Californian, Rappahannock, and La Touraine.

Who did Titanic call for help?

Titanic sent out a general CQD/SOS call to any ship within the range of their transmission. The call was heeded by the Carpathia which was ~60 miles away. It would have been received by the Californian (~20 miles away) if their radio station had been manned at the time, but they did not receive the message until the next morning.

Why didn't the California receive titanic's telegraph message's for help?

Their telegraph was broken, so it was difficult and, well, it was probably the best idea to jam people in lifeboats so they would carry more that 20, and only 6/705 should of died

What is three disadvantages of telex communication?

The advantage over telegraph is that ordinary people could read the output and over the telephone that there was a written record and the recipient did not need to be present to receive a message. The disadvantages are that it is expensive and requires special phone connections.

How does the electric telegraph?

A telegraph works by sending a series of electric pulses through a long wire, to another telegraph device which then interprets the pulses into a series of clicking sounds. Depending on how long the lengths of the clicks are, there is an "alphabet" called Morse Code that the person on the other side of the telegraph can use to understand. The telegraph system was the first step to the development of the telephone. <><><> The old fashioned telegraph system used lines similar to telephone lines but did not use speech. It was used to send messages from one place to another by using electrical on/off signals, similar to the dots and dashes used in the Morse Code. A person who wanted to send a telegraph message would have to write it clearly - using block letters and numbers - onto a piece of paper called a "Telegraph Transmission Form" and had to take it by hand to a "Telegraph Office". A person called a "Telegraph Operator" then had to read the form and tap-in each of the letters and numbers into a machine called a "Telegraph Machine". The signals made letters and numbers appear on a similar machine at a "Telegraph Office" in the town where the person lived who was to receive the message. The machine at the "receiving station" actually printed out the letters and numbers onto a strip of paper just as they were sent out from the keyboard of the "transmitting station". The strips of paper were then pasted onto another sheet of paper, called a "Telegraph Reception Form" and that was hand-delivered to the person it was addressed-to. <><><> If you mean a telex machine, it has a keyboard like a typewriter and also has a printer . If you know someone you want to send a message to has a similar telex machine, you can set up a telex call to their number, just like a telephone call but with no speech. Then you can type in your message and the the telex machine at the other end of the line will print it out.
