Alexander Carlisle proposed 64 lifeboats which was reduced to 48, then 32, but only 16 were installed, enough for only 1,178 people if all boats were filled. Thomas Andrews insisted on the extra 4 collapsibles which saved more people, including Ismay who escaped in collapsible C!
because the crewmen were rushing to get people on the boats they didnt know how much time they had to save people. also the crewmen that were loading the boats didnt believe the capacity of 65 was right they thought the boats would sink, therefore plunging the people in the boats into the icy water, but they could have been filled to the full capacity.
the white star line put about 14 lifeboats on titanic, the law back then was 12, so they thought they were safe with only 2 over the law. but on titanic, 2 more life boats didnt help. hope it helps
Lol Depends how many more lifeboats were on the ship. The reason there werent enough lifeboats onboard was because mr Ismay (The builder of the ship) didnt want to put any more lifeboats on because it made the ship look ugly.
Titanic passengers had been told by the White Star Line that the ship was unsinkable, when in reality that was a lie.
1334 people did not survive the sinking of the titanic on April 14th-15th 1912

The Titanic.
it didnt...
it was travelling at 22 knots at the time and when they spotted the iceberg the captain didnt think it was serious enough to slow down.
He was a ninja and didnt sail
the titanic was going to america new york then one cold night a big iceberg was ahead of the titanic . the people that worked on ship told the capitain iceberg ahead so the captain was trying to turn the ship as fast as he can but it was too late they hit the iceberg and bagan to sink . the latest they could stay on the ship was 1 hour but it could stand for 2 hours as well . they also didnt have enough life boats so some people die from the cold frezing water
