Lol Depends how many more lifeboats were on the ship.
The reason there werent enough lifeboats onboard was because mr Ismay (The builder of the ship) didnt want to put any more lifeboats on because it made the ship look ugly.
the capacity of the boats on Titanic was 1,178. 2,208 people were sailing her the night of the sinking. If all seats were occupied, then 1030 people would still be on Titanic (as opposed to the 1,496 that really were).
There were not more survivors on Titanic for several reasons, one of them being that the officers loading the boats were favoring women-and-children over men, resulting in many unnecessarily empty seats . If the officers did not discriminate and simply filled the boats, more people would have been saved.
Between the 20 lifeboats installed, there were seats enough for 1,178 people.
Sadly, the Titanic didn't have enough lifeboats, which is part of why so many people died. According to a thorough Wikipedia article, and verified with other historical sources, "Titanic carried a total of 20 lifeboats: 14 standard wooden Harland and Wolff lifeboats with a capacity of 65 people each and four Englehardt "collapsible" lifeboats ... with a capacity of 47 people each." I enclose a link to tell you more.
All twenty of Titanic's lifeboats were used one way or another, including the overturned boat B. Some went underfilled but two were discharged with 70 people: boats #11 and #15.
There were more passengers and crew than the lifeboats could hold.
Most of the people would have survived if they had more lifeboats, and didn't shut the water-tight doors. Not shutting the doors would let the water balance out and not sink one side so that it wouldn't break the titanic in half, and even if that wouldn't work, they would have saved a lot of people if they had more lifeboats.

I would have to say yes. The Titanic did have a shortage of lifeboats.

Yes because they didn't think the Titanic would ever sink and that the sufficient amount of lifeboats would make the deck too cluttered. The people of the White Star Line were more concerned about appearance than about safety
This is more of a random fact, but the reason why there weren't enough boats on the Titanic was because a few years before a boat had sunk and there were too many life boats, so the designers only outfitted life boats on the Titanic for decoration more than anything else, as they thought it would never sink. The Titanic was designed to hold 32 lifeboats, it was eventually paired down to twenty. Lifeboat number 6 was designed to hold 65 people. For more info visit the link below.
People blame the designer of the Titanic for not including enough lifeboats primarily because the ship was marketed as "unsinkable," leading to a false sense of security. The regulatory standards of the time were outdated, requiring fewer lifeboats than necessary for the number of passengers. Additionally, there was a prevailing belief that lifeboats would detract from the ship's aesthetic appeal and luxury. As a result, when the Titanic sank, the lack of adequate lifeboats became a focal point for criticism.
Titanic had 20 lifeboats. The US would have required 42 boats - with a capacity of 2,367. To have handled all the passengers, she would have needed 51 boats.
