Answer

Because large marsupials either never evolved or have long since gone extinct in Africa.

Answer

*edit; They clearly evolved well after Gondwanaland had drifted apart which probably explains why they missed the boat as well. Actually the penguins have the same problem. Why are they all in the Antarctic and none in the Arctic?

For the most part, no. Kangaroos are native to Australia. Tree kangaroos can be found in New Guinea as well as on some Indonesian islands, but these are the only kangaroos in any part of Asia.

While kangaroos, and especially wallabies, have been introduced to other countries, they have not yet been introduced to Africa. The large carnivorous predators would easily wipe the smaller kangaroos out. Only the largest kangaroo species - those capable of high-speed flight over a long distance - would stand a chance.

Do kangaroos live in dens?

The majority of kangaroo species do not make a nest, burrow or home. Kangaroos shelter under trees, in caves or under cliff overhangs.
