Prince Alexander is Paris of the Trojan legend. He took Helen because they fell in love and Paris wanted to bring Helen back to Troy to live with her.

He also took a large amount of stolen loot with him to seal the deal, which irked the Greeks more than departure of the woman.

Were the Spartans known for somthing they did during the Trojan wars?

According to the mythology of the Trojan War, it was all to do with Helen of Troy (who wasn't really from Troy, but rather Sparta). When Helen was approaching the age of marriage there were many suitors trying to win her because of her beauty. Odysseus came up with the idea that all the suitors must swear an oath that Helen can choose who she wants to marry and that all the others will support the lucky man if he ever gets into trouble because of her. Helen chose Menelaus, who became King of Sparta, when Helen ran away with Paris to Troy (thanks to the involvement of Aphrodite) Menelaus called up all of Helen's old suitors to get her back.

Why did the envoys from Helen of troy's husband call the men of Greece?

Helen had many suitors among the kings of Bronze Age Greece, including Odysseus and Agamemnon. In the end, she chose Menelaus, bu all of the others were made to swear an oath that if Helen were to come to harm, they would do anything to save her. This was to prevent one of them from attacking Sparta and taking Helen as their own (at the risk of initiating war with all the others). Of course, Priam and his sons were not a part of this arrangement. So, when Helen was abducted/ran away, he called on the other Achaean kings to fulfill their oaths. ----- It started with the Oath of Tyndareus: a idea of Odysseus, where all the suitors of Helen would vow to defend the chosen husband from any quarrel, that husband was Menelaus - chosen either by Tyndareus, or by Helen: now the brother of Menelaus was Agamemnon King of Mycenae or Argos (Helen's sister Clytemnestra; was his wife). When Paris took Helen from Sparta to Troy, Menelaus called upon all the suitors and their resources from that vow to go to war with Troy.

What is the story of Queen of Troy cause of Trojan War?

It was not the Queen of Troy - she had nothing to do with the the cause of the war. It was 'much manned Helen'. Helen was wife of Spartan king Menelaus. Visiting prince of Troy Paris (Alexander) got her to come back to Troy with him, also smuggling out a lot of Menelaus' wealth. Menelaus called on his brother Agamemnon, king of Argos for help, so they organised all the neghbouring kingdoms into a piratical expedition to Asia Minor, and set about looting the area. When after 10 years they had cleaned out the coast and islands, they invested the only place left worth looting, Troy. After the Greeks gained the upper hand, king Priam of Troy offered to give Helen back, but the Greeks demanded also Menelaus' property which was more important. Priam refused, so the seige continued, and after the fall of the city, Menelaus took Helen home along with the loot as compensation.

Why Odysseus did not have any Ithacan army or generals to help him fight the suitors?
