I guess its the same feeling of when you get hooked on a song. The beat of and the tune of it gets really addicting and catchy. But music of a different language shouldn't stop you from liking it right?

J-pop and K-pop for example (Japanese and Korean). American pop is very famous - but imagine Americans sang K-pop, now that's news. America tends to be a larger, more famous country with more singers but everyone has their likes right?
K-pop is more exotic and new, exciting and interesting but their are some great American ones too! It's all about the people, the culture and the inspiration and ideas! That's what makes music amazing. K-pop can be just as boring as American pop depending on the viewer and singer/genre.
At the moment american music (whether it be pop, rock, jazz etc) is the most successful not only because of it's music but the other parts of it's culture which influence the music.

I guess it's also about the looks. Practically every kpop idol is physically attractive which probably explains why they are so popular among young adults.

Is k-pop getting more popular because psy?
Some people believe it is because of PSY. People became familiarized with K-Pop because of him. But another theory is basically where J-Pop ruled in the late 1990's, K-Pop started taking over. Does that makes sense? The first ever K-Pop group was Seo Taiji and Boys in 1991. He started the Hallyu Wave (in other words, he started kpop). So basically alot of people that were J-Pop fans turned to K-Pop fans. Other people say they like it because of the dances or the people, but I believe it's just a mixture of everything.
