Why does Allison Mack has 22 episodes per season and Erica Durance has less?

(Note: these are just my personal opinions based on my own logic nothing more)

Since Allison Mack, AKA Chloe, is in essence Watch Tower it would make sense that she would be in more episodes then Erica Durance, AKA Lois. Since the unofficial starting of the JLS/JSA, Watch Tower is their central base of operations and since Chloe runs things in there. It would only make sense that she would have more air time then Lois. Remember, this is a series based off of Clark Kent and his coming to be Superman, not the story of Lois & Clark, that was already a show in the 90s.

I would also add that Allison Mack has been on the show since Season 1 therefore she gets full time status and the vacant spot of the original leading lady Kristin Kreuk.

One opinion in regards to the reason behind Allison Mack being in more episodes than Erica Durance in the Smallville television series is because Allison Mack was one of the lead characters since the beginning of the show so her contract would differ in comparison to Erica Durance's contract, another reason is because Chloe Sullivan is an important character in the Smallville series because of her becoming the one that runs Watchtower and the third reason is because Erica Durance's contract likely is different so that it would have gave her the opportunity to take on other projects while still working on Smallville as well.
