To honor Gregory Maguire's inventive genius is the reason why the stage design by Eugene Lee (b. 1939) looks like clockwork and gears in the musical "Wicked."

Specifically, the musical is an adaptation of the original novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maguire (b. June 9, 1954). The author introduces a clock of the time dragon. That clock is the location of Elphaba Thropp's birth and the source of her future knowledge of the identity of her biological father.

When you wind up a clockwork toy what is producing the force?

Technically, you are "producing" the energy, but I'm assuming you mean what is "storing" it. Clockwork works like this: you wind it up, and inside there is a spring which stores the energy, and as that spring unwinds, it moves gears to convert the energy into motion.~W

How do you get the multitool on Steamworks Island?

At the Clockwork Cantina where you enter the island, put the gears into their proper places and turn the crank to dispense a Multi-Tool. The two large gears go at the top and the bottom, on the pivots there, and the three small gears connect them down the center.

What does clockwork the idiom mean?

Clockwork isn't an idiom that I'm aware of. The work means something that is mechanical, driven by old-fashioned gears and wheels. It can also mean something that runs as smoothly as if mechanical, or something repetitive and mechanical-seeming.

What disadvantages of spur gears?

What are the 3 types of bevel gear in a rear axle?

The three types of bevel gears commonly used in rear axles are straight bevel gears, spiral bevel gears, and zero bevel gears. Straight bevel gears feature straight teeth and are simpler in design, while spiral bevel gears have curved teeth that allow for smoother and quieter operation, making them more efficient. Zero bevel gears, also known as hypoid gears, have their axes offset, which enables high torque transmission and improved load capacity. Each type has its own advantages, making them suitable for different applications in automotive design.

What is the machinery that runs a timepiece?

The machinery that runs a timepiece is called the movement. It is made up of various components such as gears, springs, and escapements that work together to regulate the timekeeping function of the watch or clock.

When was the gear invented and how has its design evolved over time?

The gear was invented around 300 BC by the ancient Greeks. Over time, the design of gears has evolved to become more precise and efficient, with advancements in materials and manufacturing techniques leading to gears that are smaller, stronger, and more reliable.

How do you beat the Clockwork Cantina on Steamworks island?

You can obtain your Multi-tool (which is required for several actions) at the Clockwork Cantina just right of where you enter Steamworks Island. The challenge has an unfinished gear device and 5 gears, 2 large and 3 small. The big gears go at the top and bottom, and the smaller three in between, connecting them. When all five are in place, turn the crank at lower right several times clockwise. *Place one large gear over the shaft (circle) nearest the large fixed gear at the top. The gear teeth should intersect. Similarly place the other large gear next to the large fixed gear at the bottom. The three small gears will connect these, being placed on three shaft pins down the right center.
